It was a pleasure recently to photograph this couples relaxed and intimate wedding in Gibraltar.
The couple chose a simple and elegant plan for the day, beginning with preparations at The Eliott Hotel, followed by their ceremony in the historic Mayor’s Parlour at City Hall. After the ceremony we took a gentle walk through the old town and finished with portraits in the beautiful Gibraltar Botanic Gardens.
Gibraltar is one of the most popular places in Europe for couples who want a straightforward legal wedding in a stunning Mediterranean setting, and the combination of historic streets, gardens and sea views always provides a wonderful backdrop for natural wedding photography.
Preparations at The Eliott Hotel
The morning began at The Eliott Hotel, one of the best known hotels in the centre of town.
There is an excited atmosphere during the preparations, and the rooms here provide lovely natural light for photographs. After a few relaxed moments getting ready, we stepped up to the hotel’s rooftop terrace for a few portraits before heading towards the ceremony.
From the rooftop you can enjoy wonderful views across the town and harbour, making it a perfect place to capture a few quiet moments before the day begins.
Walking Through Town to the Ceremony
One of the lovely things about getting married in Gibraltar is how everything is within easy walking distance.
From the hotel we made our way through the streets of the old town towards City Hall.
These moments often produce some of the most natural photographs of the day — relaxed smiles, anticipation, and the sense that something special is about to happen.

Ceremony in the Mayor’s Parlour
The ceremony took place in the elegant Mayor’s Parlour inside City Hall in Gibraltar.
This historic room provides a beautiful and intimate setting for civil ceremonies, and it is a popular choice for couples travelling to Gibraltar to marry.
The ceremony itself was warm and relaxed, an intimate moment shared between a couple in love.
Portraits on the Way to the Botanical Gardens
After the ceremony we took a relaxed walk through town, stopping along the way for a few portraits.
Wedding Portraits in the Botanical Gardens
We finished the photography session in the peaceful surroundings of the Gibraltar Botanic Gardens, one of my favourite locations for wedding portraits in Gibraltar.
The gardens provide a beautiful contrast to the town, with lush greenery, quiet pathways and soft light filtering through the trees. It’s the perfect place for couples to relax for a few minutes after the ceremony and enjoy the moment together.
The calm atmosphere of the gardens made a wonderful ending to a joyful and intimate wedding day.
Planning a Wedding in Gibraltar
Gibraltar has become a very popular destination for couples who want a straightforward and memorable place to marry.
Many couples choose Gibraltar because:
- the legal process is simple
- ceremonies are conducted in English
- the scenery is beautiful and unique
- everything is within walking distance
As a Gibraltar wedding photographer, I love capturing these relaxed and intimate celebrations in such a distinctive setting.
If you are planning a wedding in Gibraltar and are looking for a photographer, I would be delighted to hear about your plans.
